Polish Units and Progress Update
Posted: Matthew Sher @ Wed Aug 20, 2008 4:54 pm
The next Beta of Napoleonic Era is due to be released in the following weeks, containing loads of new graphics, a huge set of Random Maps, old Nations with new updates (this time as standard) and even ESO playablity, which is restricted to updated old Nations and unrated games.

Partyzant:
The Partyzant is a fragile but powerful unmountable cavalry archer, meaning it can fight on both horseback (where it is faster), or on foot (where it is stronger). It is available from the Fortress Age, and a card can enable it to use stealth while on foot.

Polish Unit: Partyzant

Lisowczyk:
The Lisowczyk is a cheap, weak, and fast cavalry unit with a very strong bonus against infantry. It is available from the Colonial Age and can be very devastating if upgraded and managed effectively.

Polish Unit: Lisowczyk

Voice Sounds:
The Polish graphics are now finished, which means that the Polish, Italians, and Swedish are all finished not only in terms of graphics, but sound as well. Although the voices themselves remain unchanged from the last version, the sounds themselves have been trimmed, edited, and filtered to a much higher quality. I have removed ambient noise distortion, and made sure that their volume and durations were comparable to those of the original civilizations.

Condottieri
Italian Unique Unit. These heavily armored cavalry units are tough, but they adhere to an archaic code of honor when fighting other hired soldiers.

Teutonic Knights
Prussian Unique Unit. These heavily armored archaic heavy infantry units move slowly, but they are devastating in melee.

Szlachcics replace Explorers; they may be killed, but you can have many Szlachcics.
Polish unique explorer. Unlike normal explorers, they die permanently. They can be trained at outposts as well as at TCs.

Napoleonic Era - Open Beta 1.0 released!
Posted: Xastor @ Wed Jul 02, 2008 12:21 pm

We are proud to announce that Beta 1.0 of Napoleonic Era, Age of Empires III's biggest modification, has been released!

Napoleonic Era is a revolutionary, non-commercial and fan-based modification for Ensemble Studios' latest RTS game, Age of Empires III. Napoleonic Era requires Age of EmpiresŪ III: The Asian Dynasties and Patch 1.01 to be installed on your computer.

This beta version gives you the chance to playtest all new features of Age of Empires III: The Napoleonic Era.

It features 9 completely new and unique Nations, containing the United States of America, Sweden, Italy and Poland.
All nations are provided with incredible and unique graphics and even native voice speakers.

But unfortunately you cannot play on ESO with this version, only Lan and Lan over Internet (via 3rd party programs) are supported.

The mod is easy to install and uninstall and support is provided on our forums (ne.elpea.net) and forum threads on most websites.

NOTE: If you have downloaded the mod on July 2nd please download and install it again, before uninstalling it, as the mod had a problem with the uninstaller.

We are still in the progress of development, so several graphics or small elements are still missing.

In the following weeks we will release at least one new version on a monthly basis, containing art, balancing and feature upgrades. Beta 2.0 itself is already in development as well and will feature loads of new Random Maps and even new gameplay modes.
