Napoleonic Era - Open Beta 1.0 released!
Posted: Xastor @ Wed Jul 02, 2008 12:21 pm

We are proud to announce that Beta 1.0 of Napoleonic Era, Age of Empires III's biggest modification, has been released!

Napoleonic Era is a revolutionary, non-commercial and fan-based modification for Ensemble Studios' latest RTS game, Age of Empires III. Napoleonic Era requires Age of Empires® III: The Asian Dynasties and Patch 1.01 to be installed on your computer.

This beta version gives you the chance to playtest all new features of Age of Empires III: The Napoleonic Era.

It features 9 completely new and unique Nations, containing the United States of America, Sweden, Italy and Poland.
All nations are provided with incredible and unique graphics and even native voice speakers.

But unfortunately you cannot play on ESO with this version, only Lan and Lan over Internet (via 3rd party programs) are supported.

The mod is easy to install and uninstall and support is provided on our forums (ne.elpea.net) and forum threads on most websites.

NOTE: If you have downloaded the mod on July 2nd please download and install it again, before uninstalling it, as the mod had a problem with the uninstaller.

We are still in the progress of development, so several graphics or small elements are still missing.

In the following weeks we will release at least one new version on a monthly basis, containing art, balancing and feature upgrades. Beta 2.0 itself is already in development as well and will feature loads of new Random Maps and even new gameplay modes.

Posted: Tilanus Commodor @ Tue Jun 24, 2008 12:48 am

We promised it. Now you get it. Wink Scroll a bit down on the forum and you'll see a new forum with some threads in it. Feel free to discuss, criticise, comment everything related to The Ancient Age, suggest your own ideas, ask the team and have fun.

Since we already demonstrated that we are able to post our news on a page of another mod, this will be now the first place, where News will be published. This applies for content updates as well. Thanks. Smile

TAA Review
Posted: Tilanus Commodor @ Mon Jun 23, 2008 2:53 pm

Hey, nice weather, eh? Cool

Yeah? No? - ok, but who cares actually? In the next 10 hours we will open the Official The Ancient Age Forum to the public if no one is trying to revolt in between, but before we are releasing the forums we are gonna show you the content of previous news concerning our sweet mod. Have fun Wink

  • Screenshots

  • Unit Presentation: Princeps (Romans)

The picture shows the Roman Princeps, it means »the first« and refers to position of the unit in the Roman battle lines. However, they were never really standing in the first line, in front of them were the Hastati and depending on the phase of the battle mostly skirmishers as well. Principes were, in view of the Roman Republic - the richer and better equipped Hastati. This is why the Princeps is the next level of the Hastatus, which will be available in Age III. So both units have the same abilities and functions. They are heavy infantry and have as secondary fight mode also a ranged attack. The effective Roman standard soldier.

  • Concept Art

  • Unit Presentation: Eques (Romans)

The Eques (meaning »Rider«) is a relict of the glorious and successful cavalry of the Roman Kingdom. Only the rich could afford a horse and armour. The appearance of this cavalry as well as of infantry was still influenced by Hellenism.

Equites are available in the stable in Age II and will meet their old historical requirements of a support cavalry that was useful against light troops and raids against the civil population. The Eques in Age II is not only representing the strong and famous cavalry of the Roman kings, but the rather weak cavalry of the Republic as well. However, later on in Age IV the Eques will be affected by a change of armament that enlarges the amount of boni and benefits the effort to transform this unit into an acceptable allround-cavalry.

Stay tuned for the forum. Wink

The Ancient Age says Hello!
Posted: Tilanus Commodor @ Wed Jun 04, 2008 10:59 pm

Hello.

We are ...

The Ancient Age. You might know us, but you don't have to. If you didn't, now you do. Mr. Green

But if you did, you might have seen one of our presentation threads on HeavenGames, ModDatabase, Agecommunity.com, aoe3.de [German] or AgeSanctuary. All of these posts contain the information of a closed member area on ne.elpea.net - the Official Napoleonic Era Homepage. However, you never see us - since we are hidden - and you were only able to see that little web banner on the right margin.

Strictly speaking we are here since October 3rd - Wednesday - 2007 at 5:38 pm. Since this historical date there have been phases of activity and inactivity in our forum, but here we are and we will do it. I've to thank Xastor for supporting me and my project. Wink

He allowed us to stress the News forum and to prime a public TAA forum that will be opened soon, so as long as we didn't open it, stay tuned for it and check us. Thanks for your attention. Cool
